Mary Kay Davis was born on November 6, 1959, in Leon, Iowa. She attended Des
Moines Schools graduating from North High School, class of 1978, and later studied
accounting at DMACC in Ankeny.
On August 31, 1979, Mary was united in marriage to John Davis at Union Park in
Des Moines.
Mary worked many jobs, mostly in dietary positions at nursing homes, daycares, and
even a fraternity house, and she enjoyed preparing meals for large groups. She was a
very loving, nurturing and family-oriented person who acted as a surrogate mother to
many people over the years. But it was Mary's grandchildren who were her greatest joy
in life.
Mary was preceded in death by her father, David Eugene Langloss, and her mother-in-law, Patsy Alice Ellen Howard.
She is survived by her mother, Carolyn Langloss of Jewell, Iowa; her husband, John
Davis of Boone, Iowa; children, Natalie Davis of Boone, Iowa,
Michael (Elizabeth) Davis of Ogden, Iowa, Stephen (Meredith) Davis of Fort Stewart,
Georgia, and Shanon (Charles) Ownby of Villa Rica, Georgia; grandchildren, Owen,
Howie, and Xavier Davis, BellaRose, Jude, Finch, Leo, and Pippi Davis, Connor Davis,
Shelby and Zane Pattee, and Elly Ownby; two sisters, Dawn (Jonathan) Hudnell of
Jewell, Iowa, Tanya (Steve) Lancaster of Ogden, Iowa; one brother, Raymond (Reta)
