Mary Lou Groff, 84, of Ogden Iowa, formerly of Boxholm Iowa, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019 peacefully at her home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Sunday October 20, 2019 at the St. John’s Catholic Church in Ogden at 2pm.

Burial will follow at Lawn Cemetery in Boxholm. Visitation will be Saturday October 19, 2019 from 6-8pm, at Carson-Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden. For online obituaries & condolences visit: www.carsonstappfuneralhome.com

Mary Lou Groff was born on November 20th 1934, in Parkston, South Dakota, the daughter of Edward and Margaret Roeder. She graduated from Des Moines Tech High School in 1949.

On June 6th 1953, Mary was united in marriage to Claison Loras Groff for over 50 years. Claison passed away on December 25th 2003.

Mary owned and operated Grand Tours with her husband Claison where they traveled through the U.S. having bus tours. Mary was also a bus driver for Grand Community for many years.

Mary was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Ogden. She enjoyed quilting and decorating for the holidays. She was a member of the American Legion and Ogden Women’s Business Club.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Margaret Roeder, husband Claison Groff, sister’s Vivian McMahon and Janice Brenner, brother Donald Roeder, daughter Kellie Heim and nieces and nephews.

She is survived by brother Loren (Karen) Roeder of Des Moines, daughter’s Kim (Rick) Bengtson of Boxholm, Mary Katherine (Mark) Boehm of Mapleton, son Kris Groff of Sheldon and son in law Ken Heim of Jolley, 10 grandchildren Nicole (AJ) Shute, Andrew (Michelle) Reutter, Ben Bengtson, Melissa (Frank) Sohm, Holly (Aaron) Wuebker, Chelsey Heim, Alexa Groff, Kace (Kaylee) Groff, Quinn Groff, Bryn Groff, 9 great grand daughter’s Cassidy and Marissa Shute, Caitlyn Sohm, Taylor Groff, Kenley, Landrey and Auden Wuebker, Ava and Andi Reutter, 2 great grandson’s Ryder Sohm and Wylbert Wuebker.
