Matthew Norman Schultz

November 11, 1993 — August 5, 2010

Matthew Norman Schultz, 16, of Ogden died at his home on August 5th, 2010. Matthew was born on November 11th, 1993, the son of Andrew and Gail (DeShong) Schultz. Matthew attended Ogden schools and the Woodward Academy Day School.

Matt always spoke with immense love for all his family and friends. He was always willing to give a hug and tell you that he loved you. Matthew loved all animals and his many pets dearly. He hoped to be an animal photographer one day. Music was a love of Matt's, it helped to calm his restless spirit. His kind and loving presence will be missed by all who knew him.

Matthew loved telling jokes and making people smile. He was an Iowa Hawkeye fan and loved to tease his family about how much better the Hawkeyes were than the Cyclones.

Matthew loved to go fishing and spending time in the country with his grandparents. He cherished being an uncle to his nephews Chas and Devon, and enjoyed spending time with all of his family.

Matthew is survived by his parents, Andrew and Gail Schultz of Ogden; his sisters, Sherri (Miller) Dekovic and husband Chris Dekovic of West Des Moines; Angie (Miller) Ellis and husband Justin Ellis of Des Moines; his grandparents Guy and Sandy DeShong of Boone; Phyllis Schultz also of Boone; and Robert Schultz of Nebraska. Matthew is also survived by his best friend Ryan Alberts , his nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and his friends, all who he loved dearly.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, until the time of services at the Church. Burial will be at Mineral Ridge Cemetery in Ridgeport.
