Maureen E. Kelly, 76, of Humboldt, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at UnityPoint – Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge.

Maureen has been cremated. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 2, 2021, at Holy Trinity Church in Fort Dodge. Msgr. Kevin McCoy will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday, at the Church. Burial will be 3:00 p.m., Monday afternoon at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery in Dayton.

Maureen Elizabeth Murphy was born on January 26, 1945, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of Louis and Ethel (Larson) Murphy. She graduated with the Dayton High School class of 1963.

Following her education, Maureen worked briefly at the Fort Dodge Messenger. She later moved to Minneapolis where she was employed by Honeywell Corporation and Perkins.

In April of 1975, Maureen was united in marriage to Robert Earl Kelly. They made their home in Minneapolis, later moving to Florida. Robert passed away in 1989. Maureen has resided in Humboldt for the last 10 years.

Maureen belonged to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Humboldt. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking.

Survivors include her sister, Kathryn Vawter of Boise, Idaho; two brothers, Bill Murphy of Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Bob Murphy of Dayton, Iowa; nieces and nephews, Maria Frazier, Theresa Vawter, Landra Carroll, Michelle Anderson, Jon Christie, Derek Christie, Scott Johnson, and Julie Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert Kelly, one brother, Jim Murphy, a sister, Mary Nicholson, sisters-in-law, Judy Murphy and Carol Murphy, and her nephew, Colin Murphy.
