Mike Richardson

Mike L. Richardson, 54, of Lehigh, Iowa, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2014, at his home in Lehigh.

Visitation will be Friday, October 24, 2014, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Southeast Valley Middle School in Burnside. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 25, 2014, at the Southeast Valley Middle School. Pastor Dale Harlow & Pastor Richard Laird will officiate. Michael Lawrence Richardson was born on August 26, 1960, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the son of Darrel and Beverly (Schmidt) Richardson.

Mike graduated with the Central Webster High School class of 1978. He furthered his education in the law enforcement field at Iowa Central Community College and Northeast Missouri State. Following his education, Mike interned with the Webster County Sheriff's office and in the early 1980's became a full time Deputy Sheriff. He retired in 2010.

On April 1, 2006, Mike was united in marriage to June Rasmussen in Beaufort, South Carolina.

Mike enjoyed hunting, riding his Harley, and most of all hanging out with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, June Richardson of Lehigh, Iowa; two sons, Thomas Darrel Richardson of Phoenix, Arizona, and David Michael Richardson of West Des Moines, Iowa; four step-sons, Tommas Lee (Adeane) Holder, Lucas Allen (Chrissy) Holder both of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Zachary John (Dana) Holder of Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas, and Jayson Dean Holder of Fort Dodge, Iowa, nine grandchildren; his father, Darrel "Swede" (Helen) Richardson of Lehigh, Iowa; nieces, Heather (Thomas) Herzog, and Jennifer Richardson, and nephew, Owen Richardson; as well as many other friends and relatives.

His mother, Beverly Richardson, and his brother, Mitchell Richardson, preceded him in death.
