Nancy Ruth Dodd, 70, of Dayton, Iowa, passed away, Friday, March 12, at her home in Dayton.
Nancy was born in Jefferson Iowa, November 4, 1939, to Beulah and Kenneth Lee. She was raised by her grandparents and graduated from the Jefferson public school. She was married to her husband Clifton on June 14, 1958 in Boone, Iowa.
Her family includes her husband Clifton of 51 years and 5 daughters: Valerie Carlson, Susan Strain, Sandra Gustafson, Julie Kinyon, and Linda Cleary. She was the proud grandmother to 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Nancy enjoyed and loved her family. She was happiest when the house was full of children. She loved cooking and being a weekend grandmother to many of her several grandchildren.
Nancy loved to tatting, crocheting, knitting and other fancy handiwork. She was a featured artist in 1989 with one of her tatted Christmas ornaments on the Governor's Christmas tree. She especially enjoyed sewing frilly dresses for her young granddaughters.
Services will be held at the Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton on March 15th at 3 p.m. with Earl Taylor officiating. Visitation will be at 2 p.m. until the service begins. Burial will be at a later date.
