Nettie G. Henely, 91, of Duncombe, Iowa, died Sunday, May 3, 2009, at Southfield Wellness Community in Webster City.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 6, 2009, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., at Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. Ministry Intern J.T. Burk will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Duncombe.

Nettie Gertrude Fisher was born on April 30, 1918, in Livermore, Iowa, the daughter of David and Nellie (Sage) Fisher. She attended schools in the area of her birth. Nettie was united in marriage to Francis E. Henely on March 16, 1940, and the couple farmed near West Bend. They later farmed near Brushy Creek, rural Lehigh for 20 years before moving to Duncombe. Francis passed away on March 19, 1972. In 2002, Nettie moved to Crestview Senior Living in Webster City, and in October of 2008, moved to Southfield Wellness Community also in Webster City.

Nettie belonged to St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Duncombe. She loved gardening and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her son, Denny (Roberta) Henely of Duncombe, Iowa; daughter, Lorraine (Edward) Slepski of Long Meadow, Massachusetts; daughter-in-law, Berneda Henely of Puxico, Missouri; seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis Henely; one son, Laurence Henely; three brothers, Lester, Dan, and Robert Fisher; and three sisters, Harlene Hansell, Mary Lamer, and Florentine Fisher.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
