Norma Jean Mehl

Norma Mehl, 82, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2012, at the Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City.

Norma's wishes were to be cremated. A celebration of life will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 7, 2012, at the West Side Church of Christ in Fort Dodge. Mike Halstead will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the Church. Private family burial will be at Vegors Cemetery, rural Stratford. Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton assisted with the arrangements.

Norma Jean Jones was born on March 4, 1930 in Fort Dodge, the daughter of Clarence and Hazel (Clarke) Jones.

On May 5, 1946, Norma was united in marriage to Lucian "Lou" Mehl in Burnside, Iowa. To this union five children were born.

Norma was employed for a number of years at Globe Union in Fort Dodge and also provided in home daycare.

Among the survivors are her children, Linda (Gary) Buttz, Galen (Judy) Mehl, Diane (Dan) Tague, Tim (Deb) Mehl, and Lisa (Loren) Anderson; thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; and her friend of many years, Sharon Twito.

Her parents, husband, Lou Mehl, and seven siblings preceded her in death.
