Norman Erickson

Norman D. Erickson, 92, of Stratford, Iowa, passed away Sunday morning, June 18, 2017, at Crestview Nursing & Rehabilitation in Webster City.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 24, 2017, at the First Baptist Church in Stratford. Pastor Jim Meade will officiate. Burial will be in the South Marion Cemetery, Stratford. Norman DeWayne Erickson was born on January 9, 1925, in Stratford, Iowa, the son of Alfred and Edith (Carlson) Erickson. He graduated with the Stratford High School class of 1942.

On August 20, 1944, Norman was united in marriage to Margaret Monson at the South Marion United Methodist Church. He farmed South and East of Stratford for many years.

Norman was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stratford. Norman and Margaret were members of the "Farmers Four Quartet" for 25 years. Together they sang for a number of celebrations, funerals, weddings, and special occasions.

Survivors include a daughter, Marna (David) Brown of New River, Arizona; son, Doran (Donna) Erickson of Stratford, Iowa; two granddaughters, Brianna (Justin) Richardson and Maggie (Brandon) Iddings; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

His parents, wife, Margaret Erickson, granddaughter, Jennifer Erickson, three brothers, Roland, Waldon and Eldon Erickson, and two sisters, Delores Danielson and Blanche Muench preceded him in death.
