Patricia "Patsy" Kruse

Patricia (Patsy) A. Kruse, 71, of Ogden, Iowa passed away July 4, 2020 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa.

A public graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 9, 2020, at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. Pastor James “Buck” Buckhahn will officiate. Patricia Anne Cleary, daughter of William and Ruth (Anderson) Cleary was born on December 8, 1948 in Nashua, New Hampshire. Shortly after graduating from the Appleton Academy in New Ipswich, New Hampshire in 1967, she relocated to Fraser, Iowa to be close to her brother, Bill.

On January 20, 1973, Patsy Married John Kruse at the United Methodist Church in Ogden, Iowa. The couple made their home in Ogden. Patricia worked as a secretary for Rolfes Manufacturing and later as secretary at the Doran Law Firm both in Boone. After the birth of their son, Scott, in 1977 Patsy became a devoted mother and housewife. She dedicated her time to her family and community. She served as a Cub Scout leader and was an active member of the Ogden Athletic Boosters where she was a strong supporter of all Ogden athletes, championing all as if they were her own.

Patsy became a proud grandma in 2007 upon the birth of her granddaughter, Meredith, and again when granddaughter, Clara was born in 2008. She always welcomed their countless after-school visits and the girls always welcomed “Grandma Tractor’s” cookies and juice. Meredith and Clara will always have fond memories of spending time with Grandma knitting, cooking, bird watching, and visiting at the campground.

Patsy loved showing off her cooking, especially her lasagna and turkey stuffing, and all her delicious dishes were savored by many. Lasagna on Christmas Eve has become a family tradition. She always enjoyed socializing with her family and friends while camping, attending wrestling meets and baseball games, and just getting together to play games or cards.

Survivors include her husband, John Kruse; son, Scott and his wife, Angie; two granddaughters, Meredith and Clara Kruse all of Ogden; and her brother, Bill (Joan) Cleary of Lincoln, Arkansas.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Pamela Sheridan and her step father, Francis McCormick.
