Paul A. Gorman, 88, of Woodward, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at the Ogden Manor.
Private funeral services will be held at Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden. Rev. Gordon Lundberg will officiate. Burial will be at Peoples Cemetery in Bouton.
Paul A. Gorman was born on May 24, 1923, in Creston, Iowa, the son of Gilmore and Bessie (Proctor) Gorman. He graduated with the Afton High School class of 1941. Paul served his country in the United States Army Air Force as a photographic laboratory technician and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal.
On May 12, 1951, Paul was united in marriage to Aldine V. Marco in Des Moines. The couple lived in Indianola and later established their home in Woodward. Paul was an assembly line worker at John Deere Company in Ankeny from 1948, until retiring in 1979, after 30 years of service. Aldine passed away on June 26, 2000.
Paul's hobbies included camping, fishing, gardening, and mowing lawns. He loved watching sports on TV and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Cubs Fan. He also enjoyed going to the races in Marshalltown and Boone when his son Jeff raced.
Survives include his son, Jeffrey (Val) Gorman of Ogden, Iowa; five grandchildren, Jaimi (Shaun), Cody, Mindy, Sean, and Nathen (Chelsie); two great-grandchildren, Connor and Kaci; and his cat, "Hawkeye"
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Aldine Gorman; a daughter, Paula Kay Gorman; one brother, David Winfield Gorman; and a great-grandson, Keaton Wirtz.
Paul's family would like to thank the Nurses and Nurses Aides at the Ogden Manor and Rose with Hospice for all of their loving care.
