Paul Lundvall

Paul Lundvall, 84, of Boxholm, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at Bethany Life Communities in Story City.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 4, 2012, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boxholm. Pastor Julian Swanson will officiate. Burial will be at Lawn Cemetery in Boxholm, with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Boone Veteran's Council. Visitation will be Sunday, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., at Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton.

Paul Luther Lundvall was born on February 25, 1928, in Boone, Iowa, the son of Martin and Hilma (Engberg) Lundvall. He graduated with the Boxholm Consolidated School class of 1945. Paul served his Country in the United States Army during the Korean War. On September 17, 1960, Paul was united in marriage to DeLoris Rexroat at the Stanhope Christian Church. The couple lived and farmed in the Grant Township and Boxholm area.

Paul was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Boxholm where he served on various committees including the Church council. He also served on the Farmers Coop Elevator Board, as a Grant Township Trustee, on the Grand Community School Board, and was a member of Arthur Anderson American Legion Post #63 of Boxholm.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, DeLoris Lundvall of Boxholm, Iowa; son, John (Sara) Lundvall of Ames, Iowa; daughter, Ann Lundvall of Ames; grandchildren; Dillan Glock, Christian Lundvall, and Julianne Lundvall; sisters, Elsie Lundvall of Rockford, Illinois, Ruth Zahller of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, and Betty Lundvall of Rockford, Illinois; one brother, Martin "Lauren" (Fran) Lundvall of Vinton, Iowa; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. His parents preceded him in death.

Memorials may be left to either: the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Greater Iowa Chapter, 3580 EP True Parkway, West Des Moines, Iowa 50265, or Trinity Lutheran Church in Boxholm.
