Phyllis Heslop

Phyllis Heslop, 72, of Lehigh, Iowa, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2013, at Grandview Health Care Center in Dayton.

Phyllis's wishes were to be cremated. A celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at the Lehigh United Methodist Church. Rev. Dennis Shepherd will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., at the church. Burial will be at Hartman Cemetery in Lehigh, Iowa, at a later date. Phyllis Lorraine Dosland was born on August 16, 1940, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Ruth (Long) Dosland. She graduated from Lehigh Independent School class of 1958.

On August 17, 1958, Phyllis was united in marriage to Richard Heslop in Lehigh, Iowa. To this union three daughters were born: Cindy, Angie, and Jody.

Phyllis worked as a waitress at the Hamburger Inn and L & L Café in Lehigh, and later was employed as a cook at Central Webster Schools in Burnside. She belonged to the United Methodist Church in Lehigh, where she had been active in U.M.W and U.M.Y.F.

Among the survivors are her husband, Dick Heslop of Lehigh, Iowa; three daughters, Cindy (Mike) O'Hearn of Northboro, Iowa, Angie (Dwight) Wedemeyer of Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Jody (Kirk) Klaver of Webster City, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Marlys Henely of Humboldt, Iowa and Marian (Donald) Claman of Jefferson, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

Her parents preceded her in death.
