Ramona A. Maile

Ramona A. Maile, 91, of Stratford, Iowa, and formerly of Lehigh passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021, at her home in Stratford.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 18, 2021, at Carson ~ Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton. Pastor Kay. Christie will officiate. Burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery in Lehigh. Ramona A. Richardson was born on January 30, 1929, in Lehigh, Iowa, the daughter of Emmett and Rose (Wingert) Richardson. She graduated with the Lehigh High School class of 1946, and furthered her education at Tobin Business College in Fort Dodge. Following her education, Mona worked at Mercy and Lutheran Hospitals as a medical transcriptionist.

Ramona married K.C. Mitchell Jr. in 1949, and they later divorced.

In 1969, Ramona was united in marriage to Vernon Maile in Blair, Nebraska. They resided in Lehigh throughout their married life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Vernon Maile, infant granddaughter, Jeana Lyn Cragoe, a loved grandson, Jared Cragoe, son-in-law, Jim Cragoe, and two brothers, Bob Richardson, and Donald Richardson.

Survivors include her daughter, Gail Cragoe of Stillwater, MN; grandchildren, James (Melissa) Cragoe, Janel Cragoe (Randy Rybold), and Lindsay Cragoe (Aaron Johnson); five great-grandchildren, Destiny Cragoe, Trevor Cragoe, Tyler Johnson, Morgan Cragoe, and Randy Rybold; Goddaughter, Amy Goodpaster (Travis Sonksen, Maddox and Saige) and her siblings, Megan Goodpaster, and Jay (Amanda) Goodpaster, Anthony and Tripp.
