Raynold L. Rose

Raynold Lee Rose, 81, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Friday, September 24, 2010, at the Boone County Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at the Community United Methodist Church in Ogden. Rev. Paul Evans will officiate. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden with Military Graveside Rites given by the Boone Veterans Council. Visitation will be Monday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Community United Methodist Church in Ogden.

Raynold Rose was born on July 27, 1929, in Ogden, Iowa, the son of John Raymond and Clovia (McCaskey) Rose. After graduation he worked for the Ogden Telephone Company for one year. Raynold enlisted in the Army in 1951, upon serving his two years he went to work for Heineman Reece Chevrolet then it became Reece Chevrolet and later to Sherbring Chevrolet. He married Shirley Mae Melco on December 14, 1957.

Raynold belonged to the Edward J. Maas American Legion Post #55, Community United Methodist Church and G.M. Parts Club, Moose Lodge, Ogden JC's Building Committee for low rent housing. He enjoyed square dancing, fishing and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley of Ogden, Iowa; children; Douglas and Carole Rose of Oskaloosa, Iowa; Debra and Monte Carlson of Ogden, Iowa; Donald and Deb Rose of Ogden, Iowa; and Dianne and Paul Nicklos of Ogden, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; two sisters, Lola Armstrong of Ogden, Iowa; and Ione Buteaux of Port Arthur, Texas; one brother, Howard and Norma Rose of Des Moines, Iowa; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Julean and Clifford Rose.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
