Richard L. Iles

Richard "Dick" Lee Iles, 62, of Pella, IA, died Friday April, 15, 2011, at a V.A. Foster Home in Winterset, IA.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday April 20, 2011, at Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden, with Rev. Paul Evans officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Carson - Stapp Funeral Home. Burial will be at Pilot Mound Cemetery in Pilot Mound, with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Boone Veterans Council.

He was born to Clell Jr. & Alice (Haase) Iles on July 7, 1948 in Boone, IA. He married Susan Jones in 1967. On August 5, 1969 he entered the United States Army. Dick was stationed with the 591st Engineering Company as a SP4 in Vietnam. He received an Honorable Discharge on March 16, 1971. Dick married Patricia Leichliter in 1972 in Jefferson, IA. After the service he worked for the Milwaukee Railroad out of Jefferson for four years. Dick retired as a gas man with Alliant Energy after 29 years of employment.

He is survived by son Scott Clauson of Winterset; daughter Michelle Bell of Boone; four grandchildren Ashley Bell, Tyler Bell, Chloe Clauson & Samantha Clauson; sister Linda (Jim) Molle of Boone; brothers Darrell (Connie) Iles of Waseca, MN & Craig Iles of Ankeny; step-mother Violet Iles of Boone & several niece & nephews. His parents preceded him in death.
