Ricky Forsberg, 58, of Dayton, Iowa, died Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Grandview Health Care Center in Dayton surrounded by his family.
Ricky's wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m., Monday, April 30, 2012, at Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton. Pastor Arhiana Shek will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Dayton Cemetery.
Ricky Alan Forsberg was born on September 12, 1953, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the son of Russell and Hazel (Lynch) Forsberg. He graduated with the Dayton High School class of 1972.
On November 11, 1978, Ricky was united in marriage to Theresa Nemechek. To this union two children were born: Tonya and Erica. Ricky and Teresa were later divorced.
Ricky worked for Dave Cooper at the Champlin Station in Dayton, which he later purchased and operated for several years. He also owned and operated Forsberg Wrecker & Towing and later drove for Meek Trucking in Fort Dodge.
Survivors include two daughters, Tonya Forsberg (Andrew Grimm), and Erica Forsberg, both of Dayton, Iowa; two sisters, Sherri Cravens (Primo Abundis) of Knoxville, Iowa, and Paula (Roger) Womack of Coalville, Iowa; six grandchildren, Michael, Caden, Halle, Kaylin, Lillyan, and Nolen; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. His parents, and a brother, Rusty Forsberg, preceded him in death.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
