Robert "Bobby" Hurtado, 43, of Harcourt, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2010, in Dayton.

Bobby's body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m, Friday, December 31, 2010, at the United Methodist Church in Harcourt with Military Rites presented by the Greenfield - Hartquist American Legion Post #699. Rev. Keith Putney will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., at Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton.

Robert Scott Hurtado was born on June 10, 1967, at Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Aurora, Colorado, the son of Charles and Joy (Handley) Hurtado. He attended schools in Golden Colorado, graduating with the Golden High School class of 1986. Following his education, Bobby served his country in the United States Navy during the Gulf War. He was stationed for ten years aboard the U.S.S. Wisconsin. Following his honorable discharge, Bobby drove truck for a living.

On August 21, 1992, Bobby was united in marriage to Meredith Gallentine. To this union three children were born: Collin, Cody, and Chloe.

Bobby was a member of the United Methodist Church in Harcourt. He also belonged to the Colorada V.F.W., and enjoyed serving his country. He loved life, family, and his children.

Survivors include his wife, Meredith of Harcourt, Iowa; three children, Collin, Cody, and Chloe Hurtado of Harcourt, Iowa; his mother, Joy (Butch) Ramstetter of Golden, Colorado; father, Charles (Pam) Hurtado of Mineral Wells, Texas; three sisters, Tema Lisco (Marty Lewis) of Golden, Colorado, Trisha (John) Hurtado-Jaramillo of Mineral Wells, Colorado, and Melissa (Jimmy) Burns of Lakewood, Colorado; two brothers, Cory Hurtado of Mineral Wells, Texas, and Kirk Ramstetter of Golden, Colorado; grandfather, Pete Hurtado of Colorado; nieces and nephews, Lacey Lisco-Lewis, Stephanie and Luke Ramstetter, Kayla and James Burns, Damon, Jayden, and Ayla Jaramillo, and Brittany, Devin, Hallie, and Kennedy Gallentine; father and mother-in-law, Don (Lewanne) Gallentine of Harcourt, Iowa; sister-in-law, Sandy Gallentine; and brother and sister-in-law, John (Paula) Gallentine. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Jim Lisco; and grandparents, Gloria Handley, Bob Lisco, and Tita Hurtado.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
