Robert L. Stoneburner

Robert L. Stoneburner 83, of Dayton, Iowa, passed away Monday, February 8, 2010, at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge.

Bob's wishes were to be cremated. Graveside services will be held in the Dayton Cemetery at a later date with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Peterson American Legion Post #323. Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton is in charge of the arrangements.

Robert Lee Stoneburner was born on November 9, 1926, in Dayton, Iowa, the son of Glen and Myrtle (Snyder) Stoneburner. He attended Dayton Schools. Following his education, Bob served his country in the United States Army. On November 1, 1963, Bob was united in marriage to Beverly "Tootie" Pratt. The couple made their home in Dayton. Bob worked at Lehigh Sewer Pipe & Tile, later known as Dickey Clay for many years. He was later employed as a truck driver for Omaha Cold Storage until retiring. Beverly passed away on July 20, 2007.

Bob's hobbies included gardening, woodworking, and playing Skip Bo. He also enjoyed the time spent with his family and his dog, Dolly.

Survivors include two sons, Randy (Kathy) Stoneburner of Dayton, Iowa, and Dan (Denise) Stoneburner of Fort Dodge, Iowa; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a brother, Keith "Pete" (Beverly) Stoneburner of Aurora, Colorado; four sisters, Jean Lee of Leon, Iowa, Beverly (Keith) Norlin of Dayton, Iowa, Delores (Delbert) Lee of Leon, Iowa, and Patricia Appleton of Fort Dodge, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beverly "Tootie" Stoneburner; three brothers, Glenn "Stub", Fred, and Kenneth Stoneburner; and two sisters, Violet Vance and Darlene Cox.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
