Robert R. Timmons, 74, of Lehigh, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at his home in Lehigh, Iowa.
A Celebration of Life will be held 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, July21, 2015, at the United Methodist Church in Lehigh. Pastor Alaire Willits and Pastor John Rick McDermott will officiate. Visitation will be prior to the service, starting at 10:30 a.m., at the Church. Burial will be at West Lawn Cemetery in Lehigh at a later date. Robert Ray Timmons was born on March 9, 1941, in Rockford, Illinois, the son of Thomas and Marian (Linn) Timmons. He graduated with the Lehigh High School class of 1958, and went on to serve in the Iowa National Guard from 1961 to 1963.
On October 7, 1967, Bob was united in marriage to Kay Buenting at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dayton. Following marriage the couple made their home in Lehigh, and Bob was employed at McClure Engineering in Fort Dodge.
In 1973, Bob and Kay moved to Dubuque, Iowa. While in Dubuque, Bob worked at Goerdt Construction, Stewart Construction Company, his first big project was the Dubuque Greyhound Park & Casino and finally as a Construction Manager at IIW Engineering until retiring in August of 2011.
Bob belonged to the Rockdale United Methodist Church in Dubuque, and also the United Methodist Church in Lehigh. He was a lifetime member of the N.R.A.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Timmons of Lehigh, Iowa; families, Florentina (Nicky) Sipenuk and their children, Tarsisio, godson Traven, and Tane of Merrill, Iowa; Victoria (Charles) Kotz; Tabitha (Eric) Rolfe; two great granddaughters, Courtney and Kylie Rolfe all of East Dubuque, Illinois.
His parents preceded him in death.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
