Rose Marie Johnson

Rose Marie Johnson, 90, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 11, 2017, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. Pastor Wade Brandt will officiate. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. Rose Marie Sweeney was born on September 5, 1926, the daughter of Floyd and Bertha (Lark) Sweeney in Alleman, Iowa. She moved to the Ogden area at the age of five.

She graduated with the Ogden High School class of 1944. After graduation, Rose worked for City State Bank as a cashier. When G.A. Wolf was the superintendent for Ogden Schools, she was his secretary.

On October 12, 1956, Rose was united in marriage to Leo Johnson in Ames, Iowa. The couple made their home in Ogden.

Rose was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where she was very active on many committees. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, walking and spending time with the family especially the grandsons.

Survivors include her husband, Leo Johnson of Ogden; daughter, Maria (Scott) Maffett of Ames, Iowa; three grandchildren Jacob, Logan, & Isaac Maffett; several nieces and nephews; one sister, Ramona Erickson.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
