Rosemary Tigner

Rosemary Tigner, 81, of Lehigh, Iowa, died Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 10, 2012, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Dayton. Burial will be in the Otho Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Rosary at 6:30 p.m., at Carson – Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton.

Rosemary Therese Crawford was born on March 26, 1931, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and E. Gertrude (Halligan) Crawford.

Rosemary graduated with the Duncombe High School class of 1949 and attended Marycrest College in Davenport..

On December 27, 1952, Rosemary was united in marriage to Charles Tigner at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lehigh. Rosemary and Charles established their home on a farm northwest of Lehigh, and raised four children. She also worked as a secretary for several Fort Dodge companies over the years.

Rosemary belonged to Christ the King Catholic Church in Dayton, where she had served as the church organist. Rosemary also served as a 4-H club leader. In later years, she took up quilting, and had a talent for combining colors and creating beautiful quilts. Rosemary and Charles loved traveling and wintered in Mesa, Arizona, near their daughter, for 12 years, where they made many lasting friendships. They also took many trips, including tours to Branson, Missouri, and an Alaskan cruise. Most recently, they traveled to Ireland, to explore her Celtic roots.

Among the survivors are her husband of 59 years, Charles Tigner of Lehigh, Iowa; sons, Robert (Terry) Tigner of McCook, Nebraska, Richard (Lucy) Tigner of Kingston, Oklahoma, and Ronald Tigner of Lehigh, Iowa; and daughter, Rochelle (Patrick) Impiccini of Phoenix, Arizona; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and one sister, Ramona Pierce of Northwood, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Gene Crawford.

Memorials may be left to either the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home or a to charity of your choice.
