Ruth E. Carlson, 86, of Ogden, passed away at the home of her daughter on Saturday, August 15, 2009, in Somonauk, IL.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 19, at the Pilot Mound Cemetery with Rev. Paul Evans officiating. Visitation was Tuesday, Aug. 14 from 7 to 8 p.m., at Carson-Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden.

Ruth Evelyn Brown was born Sept. 19, 1922 in Boone County, the daughter of Homer and Josephine (Donelson) Brown. She graduated with the Pilot Mound High School class of 1940.

Ruth was united in marriage to Clark E. Carlson Sept. 21, 1940 in Reno, NV. To this union two children were born: Lynn and Clark, Jr. Ruth and Clark spent 58 happy years together. The couple lived in the Ogden and Pilot Mound area for over 50 years.

Ruth was a member of Community United Methodist Church in Ogden.

Survivors include her daughter, Lynn (Edward) Reeder of Somonauk, Illinois: son, Clark (Jerilyn) Carlson of Lake Kabetogama, Minnesota; six grandchildren, Ed Reeder Jr., Phoenix, AZ, Mark Reeder Lisle, IL and Cassi Fanelli, Naperville, IL, Christal (Carlson) and Jeff Boggess, Ogden, Valerie (Carlson) and Brad Iverson, Cedar Falls and Travis and Tonya Carlson, Lake Kabetogama, MN. Six great-grandchildren: Francesca Fanelli, Colton and Ashton Boggess, Ivan Iverson, and Riley and Jaeleigh Carlson and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clark Carlson on February 7, 1999; two brothers, Harold and Donel Brown; and a grand-daughter, April Carlson.

Memorials may be left to Homeward Hospice of Ames or a charity of your choice.
