Shawn King

Shawn M. King, 54, of Boxholm, Iowa, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2016, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa, after fighting numerous cancers for 7 months.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 11, 2016, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Carson-Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden. Following visitation Shawn's wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, January 16, 2016, at the Community Center in Pilot Mound. Shawn Michele Bartley King was born on August 7, 1961, in Jefferson, Iowa. She loved life and people from the day she was born and always saw the good in everyone. Shawn grew up in Perry, Iowa, graduating with the Perry High School class of 1979. She was involved in many sports and tried to excel in all of them.

Shawn worked hard to make ends meet. She was previously employed at CDS Global in Des Moines, Cargill in Fort Dodge, and as a drywall finisher at Allied Construction Services in Des Moines.

She is survived by her husband, Scott King of Boxholm, Iowa; daughter, Lyndsay (Josh) Camp of Des Moines, Iowa son, Bryan Robinson of Bismark, North Dakota; grandsons, Joshua Camp and Nickolas Robinson; parents, Richard and Carolyn Owens of Des Moines, Iowa; siblings, Robin (Rusty) Hill of Perry, Iowa, Christopher Owens, and Andrea Owens both of Phoenix, Arizona; stepson, Robbie King of Boxholm, Iowa; sister-in-law, Brenda King Reimers of Boone, Iowa; and many cousins, friends, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.

Shawn was preceded in death by her brother, Kevin Bartley.
