Shirley Bakley, 86, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at the Boone County Hospital in Boone.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 3, 2015, at the Community United Methodist Church in Ogden. Rev. Gary Hoyt will officiate. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. Shirley Ann Danielson was born on October 24, 1928, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of Sidney John Carroll and Marie Christine (Swanson) Danielson.
She graduated from Harcourt High School. Shirley Ann Danielson was united in marriage to Donald Lee Bakley on October 9, 1948, at Zion Lutheran Church in Gowrie. The couple farmed southwest of Boxholm for many years. In 2001, Don and Shirley moved into Ogden.
Shirley belonged to the Community United Methodist Church in Ogden. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting and spending time on her computer. Shirley loved to make clothing for her children when then were younger. She was a member of TOPS, various bible groups, pottery clubs, and lily society. Shirley loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, two sons, Tom Bakley of Larkspur, Colorado, and Larry Bakley Potomac, Maryland; one daughter, Nancy (Jeroen) Janssen of Borrby, Sweden; four grandchildren, Zac, Bryan, Cody, and Beau Bakley; one great-granddaughter, Ellia Bakley, and another great-granddaughter due in May; two brothers, John Danielson of Carmichael, CA and Ed (Velda) Danielson of Payson, UT; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don in May of 2010; one grandson, Travis Bakley.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
