Shirley Fae Brock

Shirley F. Brock, 90, of Ogden, Iowa, passed Saturday morning, February 26, 2022, in the care of Suncrest Hospice and the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone.

A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 4th, 2022 at the United Methodist Church in Ogden. Pastor Gary Hoyt will officiate. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., prior to the service at the church. Carson-Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden has been entrusted with arrangements.

Shirley was born on May 7, 1931 in Harper, Iowa to Juanita (Smothers) and Calvin Cox. Shirley married Donald L. Brock on December 15, 1951. Together they raised two daughters, Sandra and Linda. She was a long time member of the First Assembly of God church when they lived in Des Moines and later as they managed the Assemblies of God (Sunstream) campgrounds in Ogden.

Shirley graduated at the Knoxville High School in 1949. Her career included secretarial positions, Sunday School coordinator, managing the operations of the Assembly of God campgrounds, supporting the youth, women’s and music programs at First Assembly of God, and supporting tirelessly her husband’s role in the Royal Rangers program at the local, state, and national levels. Her greatest joy was taking care of her family, serving and helping others.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald, a daughter, Sandra Casady, and a brother Lyle Cox. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Linda Morgan and husband Dennis of Ogden, Iowa; and son-in-law Cliff (Sarah) Casady of Webster, Wisconsin; five grandchildren Luke (Tiffany) Morgan of Boone, Paul (Heather) Morgan of Ogden, Anna (Matthew) Haub of Boone, Josh (Shannon) Casady of Maple Lake, Minnesota, Jesse (Sara) Casady of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; Eleven great grandchildren, Sandy and Deckland Casady, Ella and Ian Casady, Ben Wiebold and Liam Morgan, Mia and Maelynn Morgan, and Carter, Gabriel, and Christian Haub.
