Shirley Morgan, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013, she was 81 years old.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 17, 2013, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. Pastor Wade Brandt will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Carson – Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. Shirley Marie Ingalls was born on December 11, 1931, in Fraser, Iowa, to Floyd Glenn and Anna Marie (Furst) Ingalls. She attended Fraser grade schools and was a 1950 graduate of Boone High School.
On January 7, 1953, Shirley was united in marriage to Bob Morgan. They were the first couple married in the new Zion Lutheran Church. Together they raised two daughters. The couple lived and farmed north of Ogden. This year they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Shirley worked as a secretary for the Iowa High School Athletic Association for four years and then for the Guidance and Athletic Departments in the Ogden High School for 35 years.
She was a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran Church. Shirley loved to bake, sew, knit, crochet, playing the piano, garden and fish. She enjoyed family vacations, playing cards and was an avid sports fan, especially the Green Bay Packers!
Among the survivors are her husband, Bob of Ogden, IA, two daughters, Cindy (Kevin) Dubbert of Laurens, IA, and Nancy (Curt) Casey of Ogden, IA; three grandchildren; Stacy (Patrick) Carlin, Kyle Casey, and Jason Dubbert; two great-grandchildren; James and Kate Carlin; one sister, Ruth Ingalls of Boone, IA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also leaves behind two great-grand puppies, Buster and Lilly. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Donald and Dean.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
