Susan M. Anthoney, 68, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 22, 2014, at St. John's Catholic Church in Ogden. Father James Bruch will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 6:00 p.m., all at St. John's Catholic Church. Cremation will take place following services and burial will be held at a later date at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Ogden. Susan Marie Nolan was born on June 19, 1945, in Guthrie Center, Iowa, the daughter of James and Dorothy (Clark) Nolan.
Susie graduated with the Panora High School class of 1963. Following her education, she worked at the Des Moines Public Library and later at Bournes in Ames.
On June 11, 1966, Susie was united in marriage to David Anthoney at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Panora. To this union four children were born: Michael, Michelle, Matthew, and Mark. Susie and Dave established their home in Ogden where Susie worked out of her home for many years in the upholstery business.
Susie was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Ogden where she was in the Rosary Society. Susie was very talented and enjoyed many crafts including stained glass, painting, pottery, and photography. She was also handy around the house and could fix most anything.
Survivors include her husband, Dave Anthoney of Ogden, Iowa; four children, Michael Anthoney of Iowa City, Iowa, Michelle Anthoney of Urbandale, Iowa, Matthew (Sarah) Anthoney of Ames, Iowa, and Mark (Sarah Klahs) Anthoney of Seattle, Washington; two grandchildren, Thora Anthoney and Nolan Anthoney; three brothers, Nick (Teresa) Nolan of Redfield, Iowa, Curtis Nolan of Des Moines, Iowa, and Ray (Rita) Nolan of Wellman, Iowa; two sisters, Juanita (Lawrence) Bullard of Wellman, Iowa, and Dixie (Ron) Carr of Marshalltown, Iowa
She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Donnie, Jerome, and Danny Nolan.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
