Suzanne June Stender

Suzanne J. Stender, 39, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and formerly of Dayton, passed away suddenly on Wednesday evening, May 6, 2020, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids.

Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be having a public memorial at this time. A celebration of Suzanne’s life will be held at a later date. Private burial will be at West Lawn Cemetery in Lehigh, Iowa. Suzanne June Trask-Klein was born on June 11, 1980, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She graduated with the Southeast Webster High School class of 1999 and furthered her education at the Jerry Savelle Missionary College in Fort Worth, Texas.

On July 6, 2013, Suzanne was united in marriage to Robert Stender at the Lehigh United Methodist Church. The couple made their home in Cedar Rapids. Suzanne did in home babysitting, and had worked at Wal-Mart, McDonalds, and Grandview Health Care Center.

Suzanne was proud to have traveled to St. Petersburg, Russia, in 1998 where she spent two weeks on a Mission Trip. She loved animals, butterflies, and belonged to the Chronic Pain Support Group and P.C.O.S

She was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Klein, and grandparents, Kenneth “Jack” & Irene Trask, and Betty Bloomquist, several aunts & uncles, and her companion dog, Shadow.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Stender of Cedar Rapids, IA; parents, Joann and Elvin Klein of Dayton, IA; brother, Matthew
(Jolene) Klein of Dayton, IA; five nephews and one niece, Tyler, Jacob, Allen, Kaleb, Karter, and Kaylene Klein step-children, Laura Stender of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Mark Stender of Mitchell, Indiana.
