Tamara DeVan, 44, of Ames, Iowa, and formerly of Harcourt passed away suddenly on Tuesday, February 5, 2013.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at the United Methodist Church in Dayton. Pastor Craig Vote, Pastor Charles Cole, and Rev. Dr. Karen Young will officiate. Burial will be at Lost Grove Township Cemetery near Harcourt. Visitation will be Monday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Church. Tamara Elaine Widen was born on May 15, 1968, the daughter of Carroll and Twila (Trueblood) Widen.
She graduated with the Central Webster High School class of 1986, and furthered her education at Iowa Central Community College receiving her degree as a Registered Nurse.
On July 29, 1989, Tammi was united in marriage to Michael DeVan at the United Methodist Church in Harcourt. To this union three sons were born: Jared, Brady, and Isaiah.
Tammi worked as a Registered Nurse for over 22 years and was currently employed as an O.B. Nurse at Broadlawn's Medical Center in Des Moines. She loved bringing life into the world.
Tammi belonged to the United Methodist Church in Harcourt. Her family was a very important part of her life. She was an avid reader and enjoyed singing, flowers, and target shooting.
Among the survivors are her husband, Michael DeVan of Ames, Iowa; three sons,
Jared DeVan student at A.I.B. in Des Moines, Brady DeVan, and Isaiah DeVan of Ames, Iowa; her parents; Carroll & Twila Widen of Harcourt, Iowa; one brother, Jeff (Martha) Widen and their son Noah of Nevada, Iowa; mother-in-law, Ramona DeVan of Jefferson, Iowa; father-in-law, Jerry DeVan of Ames, Iowa; and sister-in-law, Carrie DeVan of Jefferson, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her brother in infancy, Scott Widen; and grandparents, Paul & Clara Trueblood, and Harry & Grace Widen
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
