Thelma M. Anderson

Thelma M. Anderson, 94, of Boxholm, Iowa, Iowa, passed away Saturday, March 27, 2010, at Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boxholm. Rev. Rod Meyer will officiate. Burial will be at Lawn Cemetery in Boxholm. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton.

Thelma Marie Peterson was born on September 22, 1915, on a farm near Boxholm, Iowa, the daughter of Alfred and Sigrid (Rydman) Peterson. She was baptized on October 31, 1915, by Rev. Anderson and later confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boxholm. Thelma graduated with the Boxholm High School class of 1933. On January 1, 1936, Thelma was united in marriage to Ralph Anderson. The couple farmed west of Boxholm for many years. Ralph passed away in 1978.

Thelma belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church in Boxholm where she was a member of W.E.L.C.A. and the Westside Guild.

Survivors include her daughter, Diane (Chuck) Will of Fort Dodge, Iowa; son, Bill (Sue) Anderson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; three grandchildren, Mike Will of Boxholm, Iowa, Peggi Fortune of Duncombe, Iowa, and Denice Krish of Woodbury, Minnesota; six great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and one brother, Paul "Shorty" (Doris) Peterson of Boxholm, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph Anderson; one sister; and two brothers.

Memorials may be left to Trinity Lutheran Church in Boxholm.
