Thelma Plath, 88, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at the Ogden Manor.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. Pastor Wade Brandt will officiate. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. Thelma Lee (Johnson) Plath was born on March 5, 1926, in Boone County, Iowa, the daughter of Richard and Zetta (Ray) Johnson. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1944.
On June 18, 1944, Thelma was married to Lyle Plath. During her husband's service in WWII, Thelma worked as a telephone operator at the Ogden Telephone Company. After the war, they settled in Amaqua Township where they lived and farmed until 1981 when they moved to Ogden.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle, her parents, and a brother, Ronald Johnson.
Survivors include her son, Douglas (Roxanne) Plath of Ogden, Iowa; daughter, Diana (Roger) Kading of Manitou Springs, Colorado; four grandchildren, Chad (Monica) Plath, Mindy (Jason) Moorman, Keisha (Matt) Cretsinger, and Khye (Carrie) Kading; six great grandchildren, Kaden and Carsen Moorman, Niyah and Griffin Cretsinger, Rory Kading and Kristen Blair.
