Vera Ruth Bougher

Vera R. Bougher, 86, of Boone, Iowa passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at Stratford Specialty Care in Stratford, Iowa.

Memorial services for Vera will be held at a later date.

Vera Ruth McConaughey, daughter of Edgar and Gladys McConaughey was born on July 7, 1935 in Lafayette, Indiana. She attended high school in Florida and then attended Purdue University. Vera was employed for over 12 years at Banner Del Webb Medical Center in Sun City, Arizona. She worked in healthcare during her entire working career. Vera enjoyed music, singing, and playing the piano. She had a deeply rooted Christian faith and her favorite song was “Where the Roses Never Fade” sung by Jimmy Swaggart.

Survivors include her children, Kathy Voyak, Robert “Hank” (Laurie) Hines, Dean (Debbie) Hines, Barbara Kasting, and Nelson (Lisa) Dunbar. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Vera was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
