Viola M. Dahl

Viola Marie Dahl, 87, of Boone, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at her home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at the United Methodist Church in Dayton. Rev. Keith Putney will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton. Burial will be in the Dayton Cemetery.

Viola Marie Cooper was born on December 8, 1923, in Burnside, Iowa the daughter of Abraham and Effie (McGuire) Cooper. Viola was united in marriage to Kyle J. Dahl on April 23, 1938. To this union six children were born: Kay, Gary, Ardy, Kyle, Toni, and Collette. The couple established their home in Dayton where Viola was a seamstress and homemaker. In the late 1950's, Viola and Kyle moved to Boone. Kyle passed away on February 21, 1985.

Survivors include four daughters, Kay Pizinger of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Ardy (Jack) Dorman of Harcourt, Iowa, Toni (Larry) Kelley of Boone, Iowa, and Collette Lorentzen of Clear Lake, Iowa; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; and one brother, Dave (Pat) Cooper of Ames, Iowa. Her parents; husband, Kyle Dahl on February 21, 1985; two sons, Gary and Kyle Jr.; three brothers; and one sister preceded her in death.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
